The front page of the 1936 Yearbook had an 'Art-Deco' style which was carried through the rest of the book

The 1936 Yearbook was "dedicated" to the Hercules Powder Company, the Explosives Manufacturer which was the single largest employer in Roxbury at the time. No one could have known that four years later disaster would strike the plant, taking many lives.

We recently received these scans of the 1936 Yearbook of Roxbury High School, Succasunna, New Jersey from Bob Davenport, whose Mother, Frances Stevens Davenport, was a graduating Senior that year. See the links below for high resolution scans of all the Senior Portrait pages. THANKS BOB !!

Roxbury High School primarily serves the six communities that make up Roxbury Township in Morris County, NJ:
Ledgewood, Kenvil, Landing, Succasunna, Port Morris and Lower Berkshire Valley. Mount Arlington students also attend Roxbury HS to this day. Over the years many other Municipalities without a public High School have sent their students to Roxbury. This 1936 Yearbook also records seniors from Chester, Jefferson Township, Flanders, Hopatcong and a few others. Not all students from those towns attended Roxbury.
